MySpace and Facebook

Social networking tools have been around for quite a while now. The two that stand out the most to me are the ones I use the most. MySpace (with over 300 million users) and Facebook (with 90 million users). I have been using both for the last year or so, and from that experience--there are pluses and minuses to each one. The thing is, since I have used both, it's hard to say which one is better or worse.

Each are useful in their own way. MySpace does have a lot more people on the network, and although Facebook has still a lot of ground to cover, both have been integral to the growth and popularity of what we now know as Web 2.0. (Both integrate chatting, bulletins, photo uploads, commenting, and even blogging.) I think about this as we (the staff at CML) are going through the journey with Learn and play this month, and I find that a lot of us are already using these tools to stay connected, stay informed, and in some cases play.

When you think about that little thing--about already being a part of the Web 2.0 world, it makes you wonder how far will this really take us.

I know that I will continue to use both for the forseeable future.

Just my .13 cents.
