To Meebo or not to Meebo?

I have been named to be a part of an initiative to bring Text messaging to CML. As I am very excited about this, I also realize that this is another part of Web 2.0. I was in a meeting with other staff about this last week, and we discovered a website called Meebo. What that is--it is an agregator that can allow the user to key in their username+password from their favorite instant messenger service like AIM, ICQ, GTalk, or even Yahoo messenger. Once you are in, you can have all of your buddy lists can be imported and you have direct access to all of them at the same time. it is a really cool feature if you have multiple friends throughout each.

I will admit at it was a bit overwhelming to see that you could do all of the major IM services... So that will take some getting used to, even for this seasoned vet. But this is a cool thing you know? like when "Smart Phones" were designed... Some had full keyboards, others had great functions. so now, with the progress that we have made in technology, its not uncommon to see someone with a smart phone, a digital camera, a 1GB flash drive, a laptop with a wireless connection talking on Meebo or Yahoo messenger chatting it up with friends or coworkers...

It's cool to see that CML is taking this opportunity to approach this in a fun way.

I can't wait to see how it all pans out.
